Fernandina Beach Main Street was proud to announce the presentation of a $10,000 Façade Improvement Grant to First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach, recognizing the church’s investment in preserving and enhancing the historic Anchor Building.
The check presentation took place during the church’s rededication ceremony, celebrating both the restoration work and the First Presbyterian Church’s commitment to maintaining the beauty and character of downtown Fernandina Beach.
The Façade Improvement Grant Program, administered by Fernandina Beach Main Street, provides financial support to property and business owners in the downtown historic district who are investing in street facing improvements. Grants are awarded through an application process and are designed to encourage projects that preserve historic character, enhance curb appeal, and contribute to the vitality of downtown.
“First Presbyterian Church is a cornerstone of our downtown community, and their restoration of the Anchor Building reflects exactly what this grant program is about.” said Lori “LuLu” Huppmann, Executive Director of Fernandina Beach Main Street. “We are thrilled to support their efforts in preserving our historic district.” Since its inception, the program has assisted numerous property owners in revitalizing storefronts and protecting the architectural heritage that makes Fernandina Beach unique.
